A much improved performance with both bat and ball against Almeley saw the 3s return to the top 2 on Sunday. We now have an 11 point gap over 3rd place Dales, which means that Saturday's away match against them is now vital to our promotion chances.

A detailed report will follow, but Almeley, having won the toss, were bowled out for 79 with Andy "Wolverine" Kalwaites taking 4-20, Alfie 3-15 and new boy Matt "Railway" Rawlings getting 2-4 on debut.

In reply Tim and Alfie batted sensibly on a lively pitch to get us to 71, until Alfie fell, slogging, frankly, for 32. Tim (25*), and Mark "ramp? really?!" Chapman (8*), saw us home. 20 points.
