Teams gearing up for the season with regular indoor training

]Bartestree and Lugwardine CC have just completed the first month of the winter coaching program at St Marys School for all of our Junior age group teams. We have 25 players regularly attend each weekly session, ranging from U9 through to U17 which were specifically targeted to help the players to maintain their levels throughout the closed season. In addition to this, thanks to the wide experience of the 7 coaches who helped, we enabled the players to learn new skills and develop their strengths. The possibility to mix with different age groups if desired and the input of several senior players has proved really motivating for the players.

In fact some of the players are so keen that they continued to train privately indoors over the Christmas period...see the photo! That's dedication for you.

The sessions will continue until Wednesday 19th at March at St Mary’s; 6-7 pm for U9 and U11 and then 7-830 for U13 and U15. U17 will be included in the Senior training which started January at the 6th Form College in Hereford. It continues every Tuesday from 7.30pm-9pm and we have already seen on average 6 under 17s every week who have the chance to hone their skills alongside the senior players.

B&LCC is really going from strength to strength with its coaching and player development which has led to several players being invited to county training in the New Year. We are always seeking to improve and are proud to announce that another two of our coaches have recently completed the ECB Core Coach qualification. We now have 10 coaches who have the core coach qualification or higher. This can only serve to improve the quality of the coaching we offer our young players.

We have a clear vision to continue growing and improving and plans for the summer season are in preparation, coordinated by recently appointed Cricket Development Officer, Tim Fawbert and a number of other dedicated coaches and helpers.

New players are always welcome and if you are interested please feel free to contact the club via our website or play-cricket.
